CLYDESDALES CUISINE CROSSES THE BORDER
The township of Windsor NSW is home to the World’s first Horse Drawn Restaurant, and it was May 1996 when locals & passers-by stopped in wonderment as three majestic Clydesdales trotted grandly through the historical streets for the first time. They drew behind them an elegant carriage with 8 happy guests seated on-board, wining & dining in old-fashioned fancy. Clydesdales Horse Drawn Restaurant had arrived in town to provide enjoyment & fond memories for many patrons for years to come!
Now, more than a decade later, we are proud to announce that the veterans of our team, Timmy & Action (having been with Clydesdales Restaurant from the very beginning), have traveled 1,000kms south to boldly lead the way and introduce Victoria’s first horse-drawn restaurant, The Slow Coach Dining Carriage.

Located in the world class Winery Region of the Yarra Valley, less than one hour from Melbourne, THE SLOW COACH is the latest sensation in unique dining and a definite MUST-DO during your next visit to Victoria.

Ode to the Heavy Horses
Written By Sandy Thorne - author of "Working Horses", a truly fitting and inspirational tribute to all pioneers and their hard-working horses.
We love their baldy faces and their giant feathery feet,
We love their patience, working in the dust or mud or sleet.
Heads bowed into the weather when ‘Hughie’ has it raining,
Or at a hundred in the waterbag, they plod on, uncomplaining.
Sweet-natured gentle giants from the region of the Clyde,
They’ll pull both plough and wagon and let the children have a ride.
With the tall, coal-black Shires they grew this nation’s food.
And snigged the massive logs that our tough forefathers hewed.
The Suffolk Punch and Percherons pulled loads around the towns,
And with best of all four breeds combined the Aussie Draught was found.
We salute the mighty draughthorses that helped make this country great,
Majestic beasts of burden and a loyal, lovely mate.
